Morgan LaPlante, 1996 | Figurative painter

Morgan LaPlante was born in Medfield, MA.

She was brought up by parents passionate about architecture and art, and being homeschooled was given time and encouragement to study painting from a young age.

On trips to museums Morgan often wondered how paintings were made, why the artist chose to paint a subject, and what made them stand out through time.

As she grew her interest in art only deepened.

In search of answers Morgan studied drawing and painting under Timothy Rees at the Rees Atelier.

Through her studies and experiences Morgan has come to believe that one purpose for art is to study questions there aren’t definitive answers for.

"Each painting is an exploration of an idea.

"A conversation between myself, the subject, and eventually the viewer.

I believe that each of us plays a part in the meaning art has.

What we choose to look at, and create gives a painting value that it would not otherwise have".

Currently Morgan lives with her husband in the Osark Mountains of MO where she continues to explore life through art.

È stata allevata da genitori appassionati di architettura ed arte, e l'istruzione domestica le ha dato tempo ed incoraggiamento per studiare pittura fin dalla giovane età.

Durante i viaggi nei musei la Morgan si chiedeva spesso come fossero realizzati i dipinti, perché l'artista avesse scelto di dipingere un soggetto e cosa li distinguesse nel tempo.

Man mano che cresceva, il suo interesse per l'arte si approfondiva.

Alla ricerca di risposte Morgan ha studiato disegno e pittura con Timothy Rees al Rees Atelier.

Attraverso i suoi studi e le sue esperienze la Morgan è arrivata a credere che uno scopo dell'arte sia quello di studiare domande per le quali non ci sono risposte definitive.

"Ogni dipinto è un'esplorazione di un'idea. Una conversazione tra me, il soggetto ed infine lo spettatore.

Credo che ognuno di noi abbia un ruolo nel significato che ha l'arte.

Ciò che scegliamo di guardare e creare dà un valore pittorico che altrimenti non avrebbe".

Attualmente Morgan vive con suo marito nelle Osark Mountains di MO, dove continua ad esplorare la vita attraverso l'arte.
