Matiko Mamaladze, 1964 | Romantic palette knife painter

Matiko Mamaladze is an award-winning artist, born in Tbilisi, Georgia.

She grew up in an artistic family, surrounded by her mother’s and grandfather’s paintings.

They were a source of inspiration to Matiko and encouraged her to study art.

The creative atmosphere she was immersed in influenced her to such an extent, that from early times drawing and painting became necessities she couldn’t imagine herself without.

Matiko studied in the Nikoladze Art School and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tbilisi.

Matiko’s work is figurative and centers on subjects, which she finds unique and interesting.

"Different things inspire me", says Matiko Mamaladze, - "people, nature, mood or simple everyday events.

I try to express their internal nature, using colors and emotional line, avoiding a simple copy, and the feeling born within the painting is of primary importance for me".

Matiko's work has received such distinction as the Edgar A. Thronson Juror's Award at the Evening of Art event at the Goodstay Center, numerous first place awards at shows in her hometown, and she has been the featured artist at the Daylesford Abbey and Immaculata Art Shows.

Her paintings can be found in many private collections across Europe and The United States.

È cresciuta in una famiglia di artisti, circondata dai dipinti di sua madre e di suo nonno.

Sono stati una fonte di ispirazione per Matiko e l'hanno incoraggiata a studiare arte.

L'atmosfera creativa in cui era immersa la influenzò a tal punto che fin dall'inizio il disegno e la pittura divennero necessità senza le quali non poteva immaginarsi.

Matiko ha studiato alla Nikoladze Art School ed all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Tbilisi.

Il lavoro di Matiko è figurativo e si concentra su soggetti che lei trova unici ed interessanti.

"Cose diverse mi ispirano", afferma Matiko Mamaladze, - "persone, natura, stato d'animo o semplici eventi quotidiani.

Cerco di esprimere la loro natura interiore, usando colori e linee emotive, evitando una semplice copia, ed il sentimento che nasce all'interno del dipinto è di primaria importanza per me".

I suoi dipinti si trovano in molte collezioni private in Europa e negli Stati Uniti.
