Max Cole | Tonalist painter

Max Cole was born sometime in the 70's. Max studied with some very well-known artists including four years of intensive study learning the techniques of the Old Masters.

Max now lives away from the heat in the cool Cascade Mountains of the Pacific Northwest. His real love is art where he can share the love and gratitude in his heart with others. He's also a rootin' tootin' flannel-shirt-wearing mountain man.

He can often be seen and heard running his chainsaw, splitting wood with his axe or out building things in the forest...when he's not painting.

Although Cole has chosen the Tonalist landscape as his favorite mode of sharing his love with the world, he can paint anything, any genre from realism to abstract modern art.

His methods are rooted in classic, Old Masters techniques combined with a certain Zen-like working method.

When Cole paints, he always lets the artistic ether determine what wants to be brought into existence. No planning is ever done on any painting he produces. It's a beautiful and free way to create, share, live and love.

Max Cole è nato negli anni '70. Ha studiato con alcuni artisti molto noti, inclusi quattro anni di studio intensivo imparando le tecniche degli antichi maestri.

Cole vive lontano dal caldo nelle fresche Cascade Mountains del Pacifico nord-occidentale.

Cole è anche un uomo di montagna che indossa una camicia di flanella. Quando non sta dipingendo, spesso può essere visto e sentito mentre aziona la sua motosega, spacca la legna con la sua ascia o costruisce cose nella foresta.

Sebbene Cole abbia scelto il paesaggio tonalista come suo modo preferito di condividere il suo amore con il mondo, può dipingere qualsiasi cosa, qualsiasi genere, dal realismo all'arte moderna astratta.

Quando Cole dipinge, lascia sempre che l'etere artistico determini ciò che vuole essere portato all'esistenza.
