Arturo Faldi (1856-1911) Macchiaioli painter

Arturo Faldi was an Italian painter🎨. Faldi attended the Academy of Florence, a pupil of Michele Gordigiani and Muzzioli.

He began with arguments drawn from sacred history and paintings with Egyptian as: "Joseph sold to Potiphar", "Predicts that Atirte the first victories of Sesostris", "Pharaoh judged by the people".

Around 1880, oriented towards realism, he began to devote himself almost exclusively to the landscape, and reproduced places and customs of the Tuscan countryside, with great attention to detail, but with spontaneity and feeling.

He exhibited first in Milan, Florence, Monaco, and then, in 1881, at the Paris Salon🎨, earning critical acclaim for the new artistic direction.

Arturo Faldi earned a bronze medal🎨 at the Universal Exhibition of 1900, for his painting "God accompany them", which now is found with "Winter in Tuscany", which was awarded🎨 a gold medal in Berlin in 1896, the Gallery of Modern Art in Rome.

Arturo Faldi (Firenze, 1856-1911) è stato un pittore Italiano🎨.

Studiò con M. Gordigiani e G. Muzzioli, frequentando contemporaneamente l'Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze.

Dopo l'inizio da pittore di storia e di temi biblici, si accostò al Naturalismo toscano, con scene di vita contadina spesso dominate dalla figura femminile.

Dalla fine degli anni '70 presentò le sue opere con regolarità a Firenze e a Milano.

A Parigi espose al Salon🎨 del 1881 e fu premiato🎨 alle Esposizioni Universali del 1889 ("La guardiana di pecore") e del 1900 ("Dio li accompagni", "Roma", "Palazzo del Quirinale").

E’ recentemente ricomparso un suo dipinto di notevole qualità, Alla Madonna dell’Impruneta, opera inviata nel 1887 alla Mostra Nazionale di Venezia, insieme a "La trecciaiola".

Nel 1893 fu presente all'Esposizione di Roma con "Triste nuova".

Nel 1894 ottenne la cattedra di figura all'Accademia fiorentina, e due anni dopo fu premiato🎨 a Berlino per il dipinto "Inverno in Toscana".
