Lluis Rizzo Rey, 1959 | Surrealist painter

Lluís Rizzo Rey was born in Barcelona. He had the good luck of growing up with his parents, parental grandparents, brother and five sisters, in an environment that was humble but full of fascination for culture.

Since he was seven years old, Lluís already exhibited a passion for art, and he was drawing every minute he could, whenever he did not need to study.

He is a completely self-taught artist who had his first Exhibition when he was 14 years old at La Caixa del Penedés de Begues (Barcelona).

At 22 he married Roser, a lovely nurse who supported him unconditionally in his artistic adventure and with whom he had two sons, Ignasi and Albert. Due to a long illness, she passed away prematurely when she was 42.

During many years Lluís alternated his artistic Exhibitions (13 more in different towns around Catalonia) with illustration work for publishing and advertisement businesses, including among others worldwide known companies such as BBVA, Editorial Planeta, Danone, Nestlé, Instituto Dexeus, Cargill España, Chelsea Books - New York. Books with his illustrations have been published in more than 40 countries.

In 1999, Lluís had his first International Exhibition at the ‘Adani Gallery’ in Dallas (USA), and since then he has dedicated all his work to artistic painting.

Lluís Rizzo Rey è nato a Barcellona. Ha avuto la fortuna di crescere con i suoi genitori, i nonni dei genitori, il fratello e le cinque sorelle, in un ambiente umile ma pieno di fascino per la cultura.

Da quando aveva sette anni, Lluís mostrava già la passione per l'arte e disegnava ogni minuto che poteva, ogni volta che non aveva bisogno di studiare.

È un artista completamente autodidatta che ha avuto la sua prima mostra all'età di 14 anni a La Caixa del Penedés de Begues (Barcellona).

A 22 anni sposò Roser, un'adorabile infermiera che lo sostenne incondizionatamente nella sua avventura artistica e con la quale ebbe due figli, Ignasi e Albert. A causa di una lunga malattia, morì prematuramente a 42 anni.

Per molti anni Lluís ha alternato le sue mostre artistiche (altre 13 in diverse città della Catalogna) con lavori di illustrazione per attività editoriali e pubblicitarie, tra cui società conosciute in tutto il mondo come BBVA, Planeta editoriale, Danone, Nestlé, Instituto Dexeus, Cargill España, Chelsea Libri - New York.

Libri con le sue illustrazioni sono stati pubblicati in oltre 40 paesi.

Nel 1999, Lluís ha tenuto la sua prima mostra internazionale alla "Adani Gallery" di Dallas (USA), e da allora ha dedicato tutto il suo lavoro alla pittura artistica.
