Werner van den Valckert (1580/85-1627) was a Dutch🎨 Golden Age painter and engraver.
Though he was born in Amsterdam, he became a member of the Guild of St. Luke in the Hague between 1600-1605.
By 1614 he had moved to Amsterdam, because his daughter was baptized there. His earliest dated etchings are from 1612.
His surviving paintings are historical allegories and portraits.
He also made a prestigious schuttersstuk, which features the Amsterdam burgermeester Albert Burgh.


According to Houbraken, he was a student of Hendrik Goltzius. He painted a series of 4 paintings showing a doctor as angel, Christ, a man, and the devil; these were all based on engravings by Goltzius.
These paintings are now in the possession of the Boerhaave Museum, which has other similar series on display.
He also made a series of 4 paintings about relief for the poor, now in the possession of the Amsterdam Historical Museum.

Werner van den Valckert (1580/85-1627) è stato un pittore ed incisore Olandese della Golden Age.
Sebbene fosse nato ad Amsterdam, divenne membro della Corporazione di San Luca a L'Aia tra il 1600-1605.
Nel 1614 si era trasferito ad Amsterdam, perché sua figlia vi fu battezzata. Le sue più antiche incisioni datate risalgono al 1612.
I suoi dipinti superstiti sono allegorie e ritratti storici.
Ha anche creato uno schuttersstuk prestigioso , che presenta il burgermeester di Amsterdam Albert Burgh.
Secondo Houbraken, era uno studente di Hendrik Goltzius.
Dipinse una serie di 4 dipinti che mostravano un dottore come angelo, Cristo, un uomo ed il diavolo; questi erano tutti basati su incisioni di Goltzius.
Questi dipinti sono ora in possesso del Museo Boerhaave, che ha altre serie simili in mostra.
Ha anche realizzato una serie di 4 dipinti su rilievo per i poveri, ora in possesso del Museo storico di Amsterdam.
Secondo l'RKD, il suo allievo era Andries Jeremias.
